At Island Pilates & Fitness, our group fitness classes are very flexible, and allow you to come as many times per week as you like!
For all Group Fitness classes (except Core Fusion) clean, indoor running shoes or cross trainers are required. Zumba & Cardio Dance Party work best with a shoe that has a light tread.

BOSU Blast!
Blast your body into shape, and have a blast with the BOSU balance trainer, an amazing fitness tool that will work your balance, strength, coordination, agility, cardio, control, core and more! Our Bosu workouts are designed to ‘train movement’. That means that whatever you do, whether it’s walking, gardening, biking, skiing, hiking, golfing, kayaking, playing sports, dancing, skating or just trying to keep your body healthy and strong, your muscles are going to move more efficiently (no wasted energy!), and effectively. The other great part about the BOSU Blast! class is that it’s exciting, social and FUN!
For women only, Bellyfit was created right here on Vancouver Island, and is currently sweeping across North America and Europe. Join Bellyfit Master Trainer Leanne Zdebiak-Eni for this inspirational, fun, cardio fusion class. No previous dance experience necessary! Bring your yoga mat if you have one.
Bellyfit is the fusion fitness experience for women that blends the power and wisdom of ancient cultures, with the research, technology and trends of the modern world. Each class is a seamless fusion of movements inspired by the science of Western fitness, the style and beauty of Cultural Dance and the power of spiritual practices & philosophies from the East. In the first half hour of the class, burn mega calories, relieve stress and get the sweat flowing with fun, easy to learn cardio moves infused with the ancient and beautiful fundamentals of Belly Dance, Bollywood, Bhangra, African Dance and more. During the second half of the class, enjoy sculpting, toning and tightening with Pilates inspired core work, a deep yet relaxing Yoga inspired stretch and mindful Mudra Meditation.

BELLYFIT LIVE Community Celebrations
Bellyfit Live™ is when a Bellyfit instructor teams up with a DJ to offer a ‘live’, extra long Bellyfit class. The energy created by the live mixing of tracks adds an incredible energy to both the instructor and the participants, creating an experience that goes beyond a workout and into the realm of community celebration and unity. SCULPT
Want to get stronger and gain muscle? Look no further! Our Sculpt class utilizes tools such as the Body Bar, Smart Toner, Weighted Balls and more to give you a fantastic upper body workout, with lots of functional exercises to get those legs strong as well. It incorporates balance training and a highly effective core section to complete the total body workout. If you’re looking to sculpt, tone and build muscle, this class is for you!
HIP HOP VIBE
It’s time to get funky! Feel the vibe and dance to the beat of this cardio based dance class inspired by the hip hop style. Prerequisite….a willingness to boogie! Finish the hour off with a core strengthening section and a soothing stretch.
No previous hip hop experience necessary. This class is suitable for all fitness and dance levels.
CARDIO DANCE PARTY
Jessica will take through a variety of dance styles to get you groovin’, shakin, struttin’ and movin’! You are guaranteed three things with this class. You will dance your butt off, you will sweat and you will defininely have fun! No previous dance experience required!!
CORE FUSION
Core fusion blends the core conditioning aspects of Pilates and the relaxing, deep stretch benefits of Yoga with sublime music. The rhythmic beats of the music add a sense of flow to traditional mat exercises which are linked together seamlessly. Core fusion includes standing balance work, upper body strengthening and finishes with a total body relaxation. This class is suitable for all levels of fitness, from beginner to advanced, no previous Pilates or yoga experience necessary.

What is the BOSU?
BOSU is an acronym for Both Sides Up. It looks like an exercise ball cut in half, with a hard surface platform.
Who can do Bosu Blast?
Most people from children aged 8 all the way up to adult can benefit from Bosu training. If you have had hip or knee replacements or suffer from severe inner ear problems, we recommend you try Pilates instead.
What can I expect in a Bosu class?
You can expect to sweat, work hard, get a great workout (that has different options given for different levels) and have an incredible amount of fun!

What Should I Wear to BOSU Blast?
Comfortable workout clothes, making sure your pants aren’t too long. It’s important to wear proper footwear. We recommend a cross trainer with good lateral support. We also appreciate that your runners are clean and limited to indoor use, as the studio is a multi use facility.
