Leanne Zdebiak-Eni: Director/Owner IPF

Leanne formed Island Pilates in 2003, as a way to have a flexible schedule and stay home during the day, while her daughter Livia was very young. A few times a week, as her husband Ben came in the door from work, Leanne would leave to teach her evening classes.
Though once solely devoted to the practice of Pilates, Island Pilates and Fitness has transformed into a multifaceted fitness studio, recently winning the title of Best Yoga/Pilates Studio in Western Canada, by Get Out There Magazine. Leanne is a certified STOTT Pilates Matwork Instructor, a BCRPA Advanced Group Fitness Leader, and a certified BOSU Integrated Balance Trainer Instructor.
Leanne strives to make the studio a positive, healthy, community experience. She also greatly appreciates the diverse talent of her amazing instructors.
Birgit Nilson: Pilates, Morning Flow & Yin Yoga, Sculpt
Birgit has a diploma in Kinesiology and is a BCRPA registered Personal Trainer and Trainer of Fitness Leaders. She is also the owner of WorkWise Occupational Health Consulting. She has been teaching Fitness and Yoga classes for over 15 years and has been on the IPF Instructor team, since 2006. Combining knowledge and her vast experience, Birgit will help you find new ways to challenge your body in a safe and enjoyable environment. She is currently taking her training in Yoga Therapy.
Jessica Wittman: Zumba, Hip Hop House, Core Fusion
Jessica is a certified Zumba Fitness Instructor, and also brings numerous certifications from dance, yoga and Pilates. Jessica is thrilled to be back in the Comox Valley after spending many years in California and Vancouver. Her infectious enthusiasm will keep you coming back to her incredibly fun classes again and again.
Edith Jacob: Belly Dance
IPF’s resident goddess, Edith has entertained many large crowds and small intimate gatherings in a variety of dance forms over the past 10 years: Middle Eastern, Gypsy, Flamenco and Dance theater. Her smooth teaching style makes all class members feel comfortable, confident and feminine! She is a member of Gitanas de la Isla Flamenco troupe and is part of Blue Lotus, a dance troupe that is pushing the boundaries of Belly Dancing
Megan Tomlinson: Hatha Yoga
Megan joins us after recently moving to the Comox Valley from Victoria. Megan grew up as a dancer and was initially drawn to the practice of yoga in 1999 as a physical form for creation and expression through movement. In spring 2005, Megan completed the Teacher Training Program at MokSana Yoga Centre and went on to complete her 500 hour certification with the South Okanagan Yoga Association. Megan draws daily inspiration from the lessons yoga offers on the mat and in the school of life.
Chantal Van Vugt: Bellyfit
Chantal was born and raised on Hornby Island where enthusiasm for fitness is a natural component of growing up. On her path to health and happiness she has been involved in Pilates, Yoga, Dance, and many of the Island’s local sports like surfing and snowboarding.
Through danc,e Chantal was led to wanting to further her understanding of Pilates. She completed her training and a 500 hour apparatus apprenticeship at Pilates Unlimited in Vancouver, between 2005 and 2010. She is thrilled to now add Bellyfit to her repertoire.
Lisa Williams: Bellyfit and IPF’s super blogger
Lisa has been teaching Bellyfit at the studio since the Spring of 2009. She is an experienced group fitness instructor and has taught numerous types of classes over the years. Her out-going personality and positive energy make her classes extremely enjoyable!
